A Valentine Celebration of Song
February 4, 2014“Songs of Love and Flirtation,” is the title of the next musical concert atTaylor Community. Performed by Angelynne Hinson, soprano; Melinda McMahon,mezzo soprano; Dorothy Braker, cello; and Barbara Flocco, Piano, the eventtakes place Sunday, Feb. 16 at 3 p.m. at Taylor’s Woodside Building, 435 UnionAve.
The afternoon performancewill feature texts of love, lost and found, set by composers including Handel,Massenet, Saint Saens and Foster. Additionally, Angelynne, Melinda and Dorothywill each perform solo repertoire of Bernstein, Finzi and Rachmaninoff.
Angelynne and Melinda haveconcertized regionally, singing a wide variety of repertoire for two voices. In2008 they were invited to London to perform in a series of concerts in thecity’s historic churches. They’re known for their unique blend and arepassionate about presenting thoughtful, educational and eclectic concerts,making the song recital experience memorable and meaningful.
