Trips have descriptors – Easy, Moderate, and Independent – which indicate the degree of mobility [walking, standing, stepping, etc.] required in order to safely participate and enjoy the trip.
Please note: There is a $10 fee charged for trip cancellations. If a trip requires pre-paid tickets or entry fees, you cannot be reimbursed if you cancel from the trip OR if Taylor needs to cancel the trip due to weather conditions that make driving unsafe. Non-residents pay a $10 fee for going on Taylor Community trips.
There will be no trip Friday, April 25.
Friday – April 4 – Cabela’s, the Gateway Shops and Lunch at Famous Dave’s. Cabela’s offers quality outdoor merchandise and their showroom is an educational and entertainment attraction featuring a museum-quality animal display, huge aquariums, and trophy animals interacting in realistic re-creations of their natural habitat. You can relax and enjoy lunch at Famous Dave’s, known for the best tasting barbecue with old- fashioned hospitality and a fun environment. Choose from barbecue combos, sandwiches, chili, soups, salads and traditional side dishes such as coleslaw, macaroni and cheese and vegetables. After lunch, also located in The Gateway Shoppes Plaza, is Haven’s Candies, where you can satisfy your sweet tooth in a shop that has been manufacturing and selling handcrafted chocolate and candies for more than 90 years. If you or someone you know needs pet supplies, stop at Pet Life. Kitchen & Cork is the newest store in the plaza selling kitchen products, specialty foods, fine wines and much more. The bus will begin picking up residents on the Laconia campus at 8:00 AM. There will be a convenience stop in Alton Bay at approximately 8:45 – 9 a.m. (Easy – Optional Walking)
Friday – April 11 – Trip to the Fox Run Mall in Newington. The mall features stores such as Sears, J.C. Penney, Macy’s (home goods and clothing), Ann Taylor and Christopher Banks, to name a few. We’ll shop first and have lunch at Newick’s on the way home. The bus will begin picking up residents on the Laconia campus at 8:30 a.m. and will stop in Alton Bay around 9:30. (Moderate – a lot of optional walking in the mall)
Friday – April 18 – “Paul Revere” Ice-Out Ride around the Lakes. Let’s hope for a nice Spring day and hope the ice has gone out. We’ll stop for lunch at Walter’s Basin in Holderness and from there do the loop around Squam Lake, on to Wolfeboro and back home through Alton. We’ll make a stop for dessert at Johnson’s. The bus will begin picking residents up on the Laconia campus at 10:30 a.m. (Easy)
Wednesday – April 30 – Dining out at CJ Avery’s CJ Avery’s is known for its home-cooked food at affordable prices. The menu features fresh seafood, chicken, steaks, pasta and the delicious roast prime rib. They offer a selection of lighter fare items as well such as burgers and sandwiches. The bus will begin picking up residents on the Laconia campus at 4:45 p.m. (Easy)
