February 17, 2014Trips have descriptors – Easy, Moderate, and Independent – which indicate the degree of mobility [walking, standing, stepping, etc.] required in order to safely participate and enjoy the trip.
Please note: There is a $10 fee charged for cancellations within 72 hours of a trip. If a trip requires pre-paid tickets or entry fees, you cannot be reimbursed if you cancel from the trip OR if Taylor needs to cancel the trip due to weather conditions that make driving unsafe. Non-residents pay a $10 fee for going on Taylor Community trips.
Wednesday – Feb. 19 – Trip to Fratello’s Italian Grille for Dinner. One of the Homestead restaurants, Fratello’s is a casual Italian-American restaurant featuring wood-fired brick oven pizza, steaks, seafood and Italian favorites. The name Fratello’s come from the Italian word Fratello which means brother. The bus will begin picking up residents on the Laconia campus at 4:45 p.m. (Easy)
Friday – Feb. 28 – Trip to Charmingfare Farm in Candia for a delightful Sleigh Ride. Climb aboard for a scenic ride along old logging trails into the forest. Sometimes spotted during the ride are native coyotes, fox, wild turkeys, and if you’re lucky, maybe even a moose. The sleigh accommodates 10; so, while one group is out, the other group can keep warm in the gift shop. After the ride we will stop for lunch at Red Blazer Restaurant and Pub. The restaurant serves American cuisine, specializing in fresh seafood and hand-cut steaks, with a large selection of Pub fare, soups, salads and sandwiches. The actual cost will be determined by the sign-up as the sleigh rental is one price. The cost will be between $19 and $25 per person. Sleigh Ride Tip – Dress appropriately for outdoor weather; hat, scarves, mittens/gloves, boots and a warm coat are important. The bus will begin picking up residents on the Laconia campus at 8:30 a.m. (Moderate – you need to climb into the sleigh)
