Sign up for all trips by calling 366-1234. For most trips we’ll need a minimum of 12 residents (sometimes more) to sign up before the trip goes out. Sign-ups begin Thursday, Jan. 3. There’s a $5 fee for all cancellations made within 72 hours of the outing. The non-resident transportation fee is $10 and applies to all tours. If you sign up for something that requires you to pay in advance, Mary Beale will send you a notice of the amount due once enough people are available. Please note the trip descriptors: Easy, Moderate and Independent, indicating the degree of mobility required to safely participate and enjoy the outing. Wheelchair accessible is noted.

Friday, Jan. 4 – Rescheduled Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. There are still some seats available on the bus, so call 366-1234 if you’d like to go. The bus will begin picking up residents on the Laconia Campus at 8 a.m. and will stop at Sam’s parking lot in Concord at approximately 9 a.m. (Easy to Moderate; Not wheelchair accessible)

Wednesday, Jan. 9 – Dinner out at the Lyon’s Den in Gilford. Good food, great view of the lake and friendly service. Sign up early because this is a popular place to enjoy a meal with friends and neighbors. The bus will begin picking up resident on the Laconia campus at 5 p.m. (Easy)

Friday, Jan.18 – Sleigh Ride at Charmingfare Farm, Candia. Please note, we need to pay in advance for the sleigh. The deadline for sign-up and to reserve your seat is Jan. 4. Sorry, no refunds after that date. If you cancel, you’ll be charged for your reservation. The cost is $13. The bus will begin picking up residents on the Laconia campus at 10:15 a.m. Prior to the sleigh ride, we’ll enjoy lunch at the “99” Restaurant in Manchester. (Moderate: You need to be able to climb into the sleigh).

Friday, Jan. 25 – Winter Mountain Ride with lunch at Fabyan’s Station in Bretton Woods. The bus will begin picking up residents on the Laconia campus at 10 a.m. (Easy: Enjoy the ride and lunch).

Friday, Feb. 8 – Lunch at the Homestead Restaurant, Merrimack and Orchid Odyssey at the Radisson Hotel, Nashua. The NH Orchid Society celebrates its 22nd Annual Show with an exhibition featuring more than 2,000 orchids. In addition to the exhibits, attendees will enjoy floral displays, artwork, plant vendors and orchid-related gifts, merchandise and supplies. Tickets are $6 for seniors and $10 for adults. Prior to the event, we’ll lunch at The Homestead Restaurant, Merrimack. The bus will begin picking up residents on the Laconia campus at 10:30 a.m. (Moderate to Independent; Walking around the exhibits).

Friday, Feb. 15 – Tour of 911 Emergency Response System and Incident Planning and Operations Center, Concord, followed by lunch at Fridays. This tour gives a front-and-center look at what happens when a 911 call comes into the center. Attendees will see the response staff working the phones and learn how the team prepares for possible dangerous events. Bring along your questions. After the tour we’ll lunch at Fridays. The menu offers a wide variety of entrees and sandwiches. The bus will begin picking up residents on the Laconia campus at 9 a.m. (Moderate: Some walking).

Wednesday, Feb. 20 – Dinner out at Hector’s in Laconia. Good food, friendly service and reasonable prices. Enjoy an evening out with friends and neighbors. The bus will begin picking up residents on the Laconia campus at 5 p.m. (Easy).

Friday, Feb. 22, New Trip Added: Stonewall Kitchen and Lindt Chocolate Outlet

We’re off to shop and enjoy the Café for lunch at Stonewall Kitchen in York, Maine. The Café menu offers a wonderful selection of sandwiches, soups, and chowders as well as specialty salads. We’ll eat first – to avoid the Noon rush – and then have time to shop around for “delicious goodies” to take home. After Stonewall we’ll drive to Stratham, NH and stop at the Lindt factory outlet store – that’s as in CHOCOLATES! Just a little winter outing and a deliciously fun day together. The bus will begin picking up residents on the Laconia campus at 8:45 a.m. and will stop in Alton Bay to pick up residents if requested.

Sunday, Feb. 24 – Capitol Center for the Arts, “The Great Mass” ballet. The full-length choreography takes its name from Mozart’s famous unfinished Mass in C minor. Internationally famous soloists from the Leipzig Ballet take on the leading roles and the staging proves the ensembles to be one of the best ballet companies worldwide. This is a rebroadcast of a live performance and runs 2.5 hours. Sign-up for a reserved ticket by Feb. 5. Sorry, there aren’t any refunds if you cancel after this date. For the prepaid ticket reservations at Capitol Center for the Arts, refunds will not be provided in the event we’re unable to get to Concord because of poor weather. The bus will begin picking up residents on the Laconia campus at 12:45 p.m. (Easy-Moderate: The walk from bus to theatre is a little long).
