Trips have descriptors – Easy, Moderate, and Independent – which indicate the degree of mobility [walking, standing, stepping, etc.] required in order to safely participate and enjoy the trip.  
Please note:  There is a $10 fee charged for cancellations within 72 hours of a trip.  If a trip requires pre-paid tickets or entry fees, you cannot be reimbursed if you cancel from the trip OR if Taylor needs to cancel the trip due to weather conditions that make driving unsafe.  Non-residents pay a $10 fee for going on Taylor Community trips.

Friday – Jan. 3 – Trip to the Fox Run Mall in Newington.  The mall features stores such as Sears, J.C. Penney, Macy’s (home goods and clothing), Ann Taylor and Christopher Banks to name a few.  We will shop first and have lunch at Newick’s on the way home.  The bus will begin picking up residents on the Laconia campus at 8:30 a.m. and will stop in Alton Bay around 9:30 a.m.  There was an early sign-up posted for this trip. (Moderate – a lot of optional walking in the mall)  

Monday – Jan. 6 – Special Dial-A-Ride Addition – See the Taylor Community tree on display among the “Trees for the Holidays” at the Belknap Mill in Laconia. The bus will pick up at Woodside only starting at 10 a.m. You will be dropped off at the Mill and the bus will return to pick you up at 11.  You may sign up by calling 366-1234 on Jan. 2. (Easy)

Friday – Jan. 10 – Winter Mountain Tour with Lunch at Fabyan’s Station Restaurant in Crawford Notch. One of the original railroad stations restored and converted to a restaurant and lounge, Fabyan’s is located across from Bretton Woods alpine area. The Fabyan’s menu includes typical pub menu items, including delicious house-smoked choices as well as soups, salads and other entrees. After lunch we’ll drive across Route 302 into North Conway as we head back to Laconia. The bus will begin picking up residents on the Laconia campus at 10 a.m. (Easy)

Friday – Jan. 24 – Trip To New Hampshire Historical Society Library.  The NH Historical Society is the premier organization collecting, preserving and sharing Granite State History.  The library offers the most extensive collection of resources and materials relating to NH history that can be found anywhere. Stephanie Fortier from Educational Services will greet us and give us a brief introduction to the Library’s collections, answer any questions you might have, and then everyone may look around on their own.  After our visit we’ll have lunch at the Longhorn Restaurant before heading home. The bus will begin picking up residents on the Laconia campus at 9:15 a.m. (Moderate – 12 steps up to the entrance)

Wednesday – Jan. 29 – Dinner at the Local Eatery in downtown Laconia.  Wednesday is half-price appetizer and beer night, and the food is delicious.  Chef Kevin Halligan offers a variety of entrees such as braised beef, pan-seared scallops, grilled lamb rack, fried chicken and biscuits, roasted pumpkin ravioli and more.  You might want to top off your meal with the local hot sugared donuts with your choice of maple syrup or vanilla crème anglaise – it’s a dessert to be shared!  The bus will begin picking up residents on the Laconia campus at 4:30 p.m. (Easy)

Friday – Jan. 31 – Tour the Laconia Police Department with lunch at Hector’s Restaurant following the tour. Captain Canfield will conduct the tour and you will also meet with Police Chief Chris Adams.  Learn about the everyday operations of your police department.  You might consider asking about officer training, the different levels an officer may achieve, awards and decorations, the detective division, or anything else that you might have questions about.  Hector’s Fine Food & Spirits’ menu includes soups, salads, and a variety of seafood, chicken, beef, and vegetarian entrees.  For the smaller appetite, a lighter fare option is available.  The bus will begin picking up residents on the Laconia campus at 9:30 a.m. (Easy)
