Trips have descriptors – Easy, Moderate, and Independent – which indicate the degree of mobility [walking, standing, stepping, etc.] required in order to safely participate and enjoy the trip. Please note: There is a $10 fee charged for trip cancellations. If a trip requires pre-paid tickets or entry fees, you can’t be reimbursed if you cancel from the trip OR if Taylor needs to cancel the trip due to weather conditions that make driving unsafe. Non-residents pay a $10 fee for going on Taylor Community trips. For Trips with Early Sign-Up indicated, you may start signing up Tuesday, April 29.

Thursday – May 1 – Dining out at the Hungry Buffalo in Loudon. The menu features traditional fare such as burgers, chicken, pizza, spaghetti as well as soups and salads. If you want to explore something more exotic you can have a dish made with Buffalo, Elk or Venison. The bus will begin picking up residents on the Laconia campus at 10:45 a.m. Early Sign-Up. (Easy)
Thursday – May 8 – Pemigewasset Choral Society Spring Concert: “The Glory of Creation” will be held at the Gilford Community Church. This talented group always sings to a packed audience. These singers collectively travel thousands of miles each week for rehearsals. Members range from college students to octogenarians and represent a wide variety of occupations. Admission by donation. The bus will begin picking up residents on the Laconia Campus at 6:30 p.m. Early Sign-Up. (Easy)
Saturday – May 10 – “Someone to Watch over Me” Dinner Dance featuring big band music by Dr. Sax’s Swinging Big Band and catered dinner by Contigiani’s. This is a benefit event for P.I.C.K. (People Investing in Community & Kids). Tickets are $55. This is a great cause! Checks should be made out to P.I.C.K. The bus will begin picking up residents on the Laconia campus at 5:30 p.m.
Wednesday – May 14 – Trip to the Stage Neck Inn in York Harbor, Maine. Reservations have been made and the sign-up completed and closed for this trip. The bus will pick up residents on the Laconia campus at Woodside only at Noon and will make a convenience stop in Alton Bay at approximately 1:10 p.m. Estimated return to campus will be around 3:30 p.m., Thursday, May 15.
Saturday – May 17 – Lakes Region Symphony Orchestra, featuring Jann Sparks, violin, and Kenda Corcoran, oboe, at the Inter-Lakes Community Auditorium. The program features Beethoven, Overture to Egmon;, J.S. Bach, Concerto in C Minor for Violin and Oboe; and Brahms, Symphony No. 2 in D Major. Tickets are $15. Please give your check (made out to Taylor Community) to Sue Williams prior to the concert date. Deadline for reserving your ticket is Friday, May 10. The bus will begin picking up residents on the Laconia Campus at 6:30 p.m. (Easy to Moderate – walking from bus to auditorium)
Monday – May 19 – Tour of LHS Huot Technical Center with lunch at the Culinary Arts Restaurant. This center provides career and technical education programs in Culinary Arts, Early Childhood Education, Health Science & Technology, Automotive Technology and Business Education. After our tour we’ll have lunch at the restaurant run by the Center’s Culinary Arts students. The bus will begin picking up residents on the Laconia campus at 10 a.m. (Easy to Moderate – walking within the facility)
Friday – May 23 – Trip to Concord for Shopping and Lunch at the Olive Garden. For a change of pace and opportunities, you will have the option to be dropped off and picked up at different stores to include Target, Best Buy, Ocean State Job Lots and Michaels. Whether you need small grocery items, clothing, home goods, hardware, electronics, movies or craft supplies, you won’t be disappointed. After shopping, plan to enjoy lunch at the Olive Garden where you can choose from a variety of Italian dishes, or the “all you can eat soup, salad and breadsticks.” The bus will begin picking up residents on the Laconia campus at 9 a.m. (Easy to Moderate – walking in the stores)
Wednesday – May 28 – Dining Out at Woodland’s Tavern Formerly known as the William Tell Inn. Patrons of this establishment note the wonderful ambiance, great and friendly service and excellent food. The bus will begin picking up residents on the Laconia Campus at 4:45 p.m. (Easy)
Friday – May 30 – The Hood Museum of Art. The Hood Museum of Art is a teaching museum whose members believe that art is for everyone, and therefore admission is free. Permanent works are displayed on the first level while works from the artists in residence are displayed on the second floor. There will also be exhibitions of Art in Activism, Perspectives in Native American Studies and The Art of Weapons. A new sculpture, “Watercarrier,” by Allan Houser is on loan to the Museum as well. The bus will begin picking up residents on the Laconia Campus at 9 a.m. (Easy to Moderate – walking throughout museum)
