Remembering When: A Fire Safety and Fall Prevention Program for Older Adults
November 1, 2012 Each year, one in every three adults age 65 and older falls, according to the Center for Disease Control. Falls can cause moderate to severe injuries and can increase the risk of early death. Fortunately, falls are largely preventable.
Similarly, one of the largest groups at increased risk of fire-related injuries and deaths include seniors as well.
Taylor Community and Lakes Region Community College present “Remembering When – A Fire Safety and Fall Prevention Program for Older Adults,” Thursday, Nov. 15 at 6:15 p.m. This free lecture is important information for all seniors and the family members who care for them.
Allen Coen, Associate Professor and Department Chair, Fire Technology Program at LRCC will discuss a number of points for each topic and answer general fire and safety questions from the audience.
