Taylor Community 2015 Music Series Kicks Off Jan. 11
January 5, 2015Taylor Community President/CEO Bob Selig is pleased to announce monthly musical concerts are coming once again to the local area. The 2015 Taylor Community Music Series, Sponsored by Bank of New Hampshire, kicks off Sunday, Jan. 11 at 3 p.m. at Taylor’s Woodside Building in Laconia.
“Our music series has been a great success over the past two years,” said Selig. “These concerts offered a variety of the highest caliber of musicians from throughout New Hampshire and beyond. Many perform nationally as well as internationally. Each performance attracted crowds of up to 180 residents of Taylor Community and the Lakes Region.
“We’re delighted Bank of New Hampshire has chosen to partner with us again this year, allowing us to invite renowned musicians from around the state to bring the love of music to the community each month,” he said. “Bank of New Hampshire is pleased to be the lead sponsor of Taylor Community’s Music Series for the third year,” said Mark Primeau, BNH’s President/CEO. “We look forward to the performances for 2015 and hope the local community enjoys all the talented musicians scheduled.” This year’s concerts begin with a performance by two accomplished New England musicians – Pianist Paul Dykstra and Violinist Zoia Bologovsky – playing Prokofieff and Grieg sonatas and Gershwin preludes. Dykstra has been performing and teaching in Western Canada and New England for the past 34 years. He’s a member of the College of Examiners of the Royal Conservatory of Music and its counterpart in the U.S. – the Music Development Program – traveling and assessing young artists in Canada and the U.S. Bologovsky is a graduate of the Julliard School and has toured throughout Europe and the U.S. as first violinist with the Arden String Quartet. She is currently Concertmaster of North Shore Philharmonic, MetroWest Symphony and the Portsmouth Symphony.
Selig added the music series wouldn’t be a reality without Taylor Community resident Bill Bell. “We’re grateful to Bill for introducing Taylor to his musical contacts throughout the state. He really took the lead and made it possible to bring a variety of talented musicians to our community.” Bell was previously principal cello of the Lakes Region Symphony Orchestra, while continuing a lifetime of playing chamber music. “The Lakes Region is a music lover’s community,” said Bell. “We already have the first six concerts lined up for 2015 and I think people will be very pleased with the results.”
“These types of events are one of the reasons so many people choose to move here,” said Taylor Marketing Director Paul Charlton. “We enjoy being able to offer a variety of entertainment at no cost to the general public.”
