Taylor Community Appoints New CEO
October 25, 2013The Board of Trustees of Taylor Community is pleased to announce the appointment of Robert J. Selig as its new CEO, effective Oct. 30, 2013. A member of Taylor’s Board of Trustees for eight years, Bob has served as its Chair since September 2011 and will continue in that capacity in addition to his new duties as CEO.
“This is a very exciting chapter for Taylor and I’m pleased the Board has asked me to serve as Taylor’s CEO,” Selig said. “These are such positive times for the organization. We continue to offer more in the way of amenities, activities and services for Taylor residents as well as for seniors throughout the Lakes Region,” he explained. “With improvement in the economy, new residents are being welcomed every week.” Selig stated he was honored to have the trust and support of both the Board and the community and that he has total confidence in Taylor’s staff.
As Chair of the Board, Selig has overseen the organization’s continued development and implementation of strategic plans further establishing Taylor as a leading continuing care retirement community in New Hampshire. As CEO, Selig assumes responsibility for the administration, operations, marketing and finances of the organization. He attributes the positive changes to the many people involved. “Our Trustees and staff are dedicated and committed men and women who continue to bring about a great living experience for our residents and peace of mind for their families,” he said. “We’re so fortunate to have a tremendous staff with whom I work. They are the ones who make this the great community that it is and they are the reasons for the ongoing success and appeal of Taylor Community.”
Selig is the retired President of Laconia Shoe Company, Inc. He attended Laconia public schools; is a graduate of Brown University A.B. 1958 (Honors in Economics); and is currently Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Laconia Public Library; Past President of Temple B’Nai Israel; former President and currently a Director of the Jewish Federation of New Hampshire; former Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of LRGHealthcare; and an avid golfer at Laconia Country Club. He serves as a director of Shalom TV and a director of the Lake Opechee Preservation Association.
