Established PSU Faculty in Concert at Taylor Community

Laconia, NH – The third concert of the 2013 Taylor Community Music Series, sponsored by Bank of New Hampshire, is scheduled for Sunday, April 7 at 3 p.m. in Taylor’s Woodside Building, 435 Union Ave.

The concert features mezzo soprano Emily Jaworski, who joined the voice faculty at Plymouth State University in fall, 2012 and Dan Perkins, professor of music and director of choral activities at PSU. Their performance is generously sponsored by Taylor Community Residents Bill and Joan Bell.

Jaworski is earning praise throughout New England for her charismatic stage presence and sensitive interpretations of a wide range of works. A passionate advocate of the song recital, she’s received accolades for her work from many organizations, including the National Association of Teachers of Singing.

Perkins, hold Doctor of Musical Arts and Master of Music degrees in choral music (secondary emphasis in collaborative piano and music history) from the University of Southern California and Bachelor of Music in piano performance from Brigham Young University. He’s music director of the New Hampshire Master Chorale and Chamber Orchestra, among others.

Music will include selections from Offenbach, Brahms, Rossini, Copeland and Johnny Mercer.

The event is free and open to the public; however, those planning to attend must pre-register as seating is limited and musical performances usually attract a capacity crowd.  Please call 524-5600 for reservations.
